The only problem with Navicat is there are no symbols between tables that show their relation. When the database changes, just press F5 and relations change immediately in the ER diagram. I have used Navicat in the past, and there you can do that. Is there a way to just load an EER diagram from an existing database, and then, when the database schema changes, just refresh and see changes, so I don't have to generate the EER diagram for every little change? The thing is I change the database schema a lot, and to see the relations in MySQL Workbench I must create an EER model every time. And then in MySQL Workbench I must create an EER model from an existing database. With a model selected and its model tab open click File, Import, and then. To reverse-engineer a database using a create script, do one of the following: On the home screen, select the model view from the sidebar, click ( >) next to Models, and then click Reverse Engineer MySQL Create Script. Suggested fix: This should work out of the box, if the model is ok. 9.4.2.1 Reverse Engineering Using a Create Script. Try to create the tables and watch the error. Follow the steps of the wizard and enter you database connection 5. The problem with this approach is that I need to generate database schema using Doctrine CLI. Don't change any options in the wizard 4. MySQL will only revoke the permissions that are explicitly given. grants for that user, and then for all the tables of sakila, except actor. With MySQL Workbench I can view an EER Diagram that shows me how objects are related, and by looking at symbols I can see relations clearly. That means, MySQL will have to add ALL the different DB. And through DocBlock Annotations I can express how to relate entities to each other. When using Doctrine ORM, I create classes/objects that are domain objects and can be persisted to a database. I'm using MySQL Workbench to design my MySQL database and model how entities would look like and how they would relate to each other.
